Updates from 18th Sept. Read and Share. 1. Section 144 strongly rumoured to Imposed at 9pm. People have been evacuated, police forces were observed mobilising. [Not confirmed about 144, but there has been some activity and gathering of police, eye witnesses confirm] People cannot assemble in large number in Jadavpur anymore. The state believes that Jadavpur University is capable of disturbance and (or) riot. They are afraid, that is what it tells us. 2. Todays rally was MASSIVE. People walking with guitars, harmoniums, violins, posters, cameras; singing and chanting. It was almost twice the size of yesterdays rally. At lowest, there were 9000 + people, from more colleges now- Ashutosh, Xaviers, Goenka, Scottish, Mass Com- JU , and random individuals. Our comrades, our companions. 3. Appears that TMCP unions have been trying to prevent students from organising in their own colleges- happened at Scottish and some Law college. 4. Word in coming in that student groups and civil society in Hyderabad, Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore are lending their support THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT WE CAN FULLY ACHIEVE THE DEMANDS IF WE KEEP PRESSING ON. THIS WALL C-A-N FALL. THE VC WILL HAVE TO RESIGN AND A CASE WILL START AGAINST VC AND POLICE. DOWN WITH GENDER VIOLENCE! DOWN WITH POLICE ATROCITY!
