Upside down In most, if not everywhere in the world, the number 19 is greater than 16, and 27 greater than 5. The only exception, is in Nigeria, as evidences have shown - where the opposite holds true. In the past few hours, I have seen photos of Alhaji Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi driving himself and one or 2 other persons, including Mallam Elrufai. Remember, Amaechi ceased being a Christian since he exercised his democratic right of joining another Party ( termed fighting his brother). Automatically too, he became a Boko Haramist or even a Sponsor - for the same reason. Most of the photos, if not all, were posted by my SE brothers. It appears we are more ready to kill anybody fighting GEJ than his blood brothers from the SS. May be we are either too tribalist, unforgiving or too hateful. Alhaji Amaechi has been called several funny names - errand boy, Oluku, Mumu, Yeye man e.t.c. Some say he has belittled the office of a governor. This attitude tells you the psyche of our people - the educated, the uneducated and the middle man - that a big man or a high political office holder should not drive himself or his friends or any other. That, it is a taboo and a social ill. That he or she must be driven by someone, while he stays at the Car Owner or Ogas Seat. He or she must go in a convoy of not less than 10 km - either to kill others or to save. Upside down.... There is ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong for a Governor, Minister, Senator, Commissioner, Daddy GO, Papa GO, Ambassador or any other high or low political or public office holder driving himself and or his friends - provided traffic rules are obeyed and he/she has a valid drivers licence That is or even appears to be the norm in most saner climes- where you see many of these men and women drive themselves - with exceptions, as the need may be. Some time ago, 2011 or so, a minister was stopped by the police on a regular road check and it was found out that his The arrogance of a convoy of 20 kilometres or more isnt a proper one. I have been in this country for a number of years, and I have NEVER seen a convoy, ( that may not mean it does not exist). But I have not seen. This number of years contrasts significantly with a 30 minute stay in Abuja, or any other town in the land, where no fewer than 10 different convoys of different madness and arrogance will be the case. Note: I am not equating a highly placed political or public office holder driving himself and or his friends to a mark of good governance or service to his people. But name calling for such a normal thing is unwarranted and is a source of concern. The reasoning is upside down. My opinion - I could be wrong.
