Urali Devachi vs Pune The Garbage crisis .. Problem delayed isnt problem solved .. As a resident of pune , I pay my taxes , and have full right to expect my garbage to be picked up and disposed accordingly .. As a Resident of Urali Devachi people who pay their taxes too , have full right to expect a clean foul odourless, non polluted and healthy environment around . Both are perfectly right in their own places . As a civic administrator who has the responsibility of monitoring the whole situation I really feel the Commissioner and his team has not been able to take the problem head on and solve the Garbage issue satisfactorily .. Im not saying they arent trying but the intent isnt so serious for sure . Yes they have done the capping project , yes they have tried to appoint contractors to process the garbage but lot is left to be desired . As a Politician I went and first tried to understand the problem , trust me going to that place was a experience in itself , the foul odour is too tough to bear n breathe , the site is filthy and makes u realise why dont we do simple thing like segregating the dry and the wet waste , the root of all the problems I must say . The residents and the Gramasthan of the village shared their apathy with me , trust me they cant use bore well water at all its so contaminated that it causes skin diseases , the corporation provides them water with tanker but that isnt sufficient by any means , imagine within a minute there were flies all around my car , here we are worried about dengue Mosquitos , just imagine how much contamination must be happening in that area . Its just not safe living habitat at all . I realised its their pain that the politicians should feel and then act and get the work done from the Government Officials . No bodys intent here is bad but the The coordination in chain of people , beauracracy and politicians should improve . What if we faced all such hygiene issues ? Would we feel safe ? With science and technology at its prime , solutions are many , But Will is natural , cannot be borrowed :). Have submitted a detailed report of the Problem to the Ministry of Environment on behalf of the MP of Pune City . Hopefully a long term solution will be found .#Doing My Bit
