Urgent - Help Needed! Fremington Army Camp - Keep Reading Sorry! As you know the Fremington Army camp was granted permission by a government inspector in 2012 after we as a local authority refused it on the basis the access road was unsuitable and unsafe for the amount of traffic movements it would create, it also meant traffic lights would have to be put up right in the middle of the villages conservation area, to support it. The inspector gave it permission under lots of conditions, those conditions had to be signed off by the council before each phase of work can start. The developers have applied to have one of those conditions to be varied again, that is to further reduce the width, to bring it in line with land that is in their ownership, this might or might not keep it in line with the permission given by the inspector. The council have instigated a 21 day consultation period. Once all the drawings have been analysed and the drawings are acceptable work can then start. Problem - developer is threatening to break those conditions and start work this morning, rather than wait a few more days. Once they start digging it is too late, I intend to put myself in front of those diggers this morning at 7.30am to support those residents in Military Road and the church, as well as the future residents of the camp, who deserve a safe and suitable access to their properties. The church are still pursuing their own civil argument over access rights I believe. I must reiterate I am not against the development of Fremington Army Camp, but I am very much against not supplying the appropriate infrastructure to support it, there were several options of a second access to support this development, that the greedy developer did not want to take. If you want to support me in stopping this until the right permissions are in place, please come along to military road this morning or through the day if you can spare some time, I have to go to work at 3.00pm, so certainly need support then.
