Urgent Appeal to help Mr Cat and Lidl We have been asked to try and find these two cats, who were left behind when their owners returned to the UK, a home together. The following is part of Val Peach’s message from Crete to Angela. It is confusing because there are two Val’s in this appeal. Val Peach works tirelessly on Crete helping the abandoned cats. “I have sorted this having found that the neighbour Val and husband will be here in Crete until December. If travel can be arranged before this deadline Val is perfectly happy to continue caring for these cats herself. I met both cats today myself - they are adorable and very friendly. Both cats are females and both are sterilised. They have been micro chipped and tested for rabies and will be ready to travel out before the deadline. Val has cared for these cats since her neighbours left them behind when they returned to the UK. Mr Cat who is a black and white female, she was originally thought to be a male cat hence the name. She is a big girl, and really loving and friendly. She adores a lap, warmth and cuddles. She really enjoys her food and isnt a fussy eater (probably needs moderating). She had a badly infected ear some years ago and it was Val who insisted at that time that a vet should see it. This turned out to be cancer and Mr Cat’s ear flap had to be removed. All is clear now and Mr Cat hasn’t lost any of her appeal, she is a big beautiful lady. Mr Cat is approximately 9 years old and in good healthy condition. She is used to access to a lap and a sofa to sleep but also enjoys the outdoors. Val has a dog and both of these abandoned cats have had no problems with this dog, so it would be possible to share a home with a laid back dog. Lidl was originally found as a small kitten on Lidls supermarket car park hence her name, she is judged to be approximately 6 - 7 years old. She is a bit more independent than Mr Cat, but very friendly. She fussed around my legs despite the fact that I had caught her put her in a carrier (first time she had experienced this) and subjected her to vaccinations at the vets. She likes free access to outdoors and comes in for feeds and a warm in the winter. Lidl is a tri colour and she too is a very pretty cat and in really good condition. The two cats are friends and have lived together for some years - it would be perfect if they could be found a home together.
