***Urgent**** Dependent Claims I need to explain some things to you about this New system. Basically the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA), U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is heavily encouraging everyone to REFILE their dependent claims with this system to start getting dependent pay the next month, and then back pay will be adjusted at a later date. Now that all sounds great except for one thing. Under Title 38, once you file a new claim you forfeit your previous claim giving up the backpay. You can make your own call on if you want to trust them to follow through or not. My concern for everyone is that they have Title 38 to fall back on if they choose not to pay the backpay. This is what they say about the system. - Were still seeing a lot of folks who dont know about the Rules-Based Processing System, the new Dependent Request system we unveiled in April. So here it is again: If you have an old request, or want to file a new one, read this story and follow the instructions at the bottom. Slightly more than half who refile can be processed in just a few days. If refiling, make sure to keep your old request active, as its what locks in your backpay date!
