This bill will establish an East Asian Advisory Committee at the Department of Health and eliminate the primary care signature requirement for licensure. HB 1046 has not been scheduled for a public hearing yet, but we have until February 20th for it to get out of the policy committee. HB 1042 –This bill would clarify that dry needling is not in the scope of practice for Physical Therapists (PTs) is also up for a hearing on Tuesday… and Wednesday there is a public hearing on HB 1339 - Allowing the secretary of health to intercede and stay any decision of a disciplining authority that expands scope of practice. All of these bills are very important to our profession and we need to show legislators our support!! You can come to Olympia to sign in “PRO” to support. Curt Eschels will be testifying on WEAMA’s behalf for our bill and speaking to the PT Dry Needling bill. If you want to testify on your own behalf, that would be fine. We are hoping to keep our message consistent with legislators and would like to coordinate any testimony on these bills if possible.
