Urgent foster/adopter needed for a tiny 24 lb 5 yr old Blue Heeler named Dixie Poor Dixie needs a foster asap. She was dumped at the shelter here on LI NY because of her anxiety and fear of strangers and fire works. She is afraid of loud noises, and nervous around strangers, for this reason Dixie would do best in a quite home with no small children or other dogs. Dixie is house trained. She knows a kennel is her safe room when anxious and a thunder jacket helps calm her down. She walks well with a leash. She can only eat proper small bites dog food...not people food! She wants desperately to be a lap dog. Dixie is a healthy pup and current on her vaccinations. Dixie deserves a good home where she can be grounded and well loved.
