Use caution around Eden Valley fireground The community is advised to be mindful of unsecured ground if they are walking through the Eden Valley fireground. This warning comes after a local community member fell into burning tree roots when the ground gave way as was assisting a farmer with his fencing. He sustained burns to his hands and lower body and was taken to hospital, but has since been released. The CFS reminds anyone who is accessing the fireground, particularly in areas where large gum trees are present, to be aware that there may be smouldering tree roots underground. People should also be mindful of the hazards caused by falling tree limbs and embers from trees that may still be smouldering.
