Using kinesthetic learning and motion-sensory technology to help kids learn: Do your kids retain information better if they act it out or associate it with a gesture? Yesterday, my teen son just explained an idea from social studies he learned that morning, acting it out with his body. I dont think his teacher actually laid on the floor and popped up to get the idea across (!) but I know hes figured out that connecting ideas to his body and its movements helps him retain them. Do you have a similar story? Do you use gestures to teach your kids?
