Usually Im asleep at this time of the morning, but I stayed up because Mr. Husband has to leave at 2 am for more snow battles. Somebody has to wake him up, and since the dogs are both snoring away, it falls to me. Maybe because most folks are in bed right now and Facebook needs to fill the gap, Im seeing a lot of sponsored posts, which I dont usually see. On one post, someone actually copyrighted what he wrote. I really dont think he was in any danger of having his intellectual property pilfered. But I thought that was interesting. Having had stuff copyrighted by the Mercury back when I was writing columns for that paper, the copyright actually belonged to the Mercury and not to me. Once it was in their hands, I had no control over it. So that got me wondering if you can actually copyright something thats written as a post on Facebook and not shared from some other site where it DID have copyright protection but allowed sharing on social media. Hmmm.... Mark Zuckerberg supposedly has said that he always wears gray T-shirts or hoodies because the fewer small decisions he needs to make each day--such as what to wear--frees up more time for him to make the big decisions. I wonder if hes worn the T-shirt yet that allowed him to decide if he wanted to own everyones Facebook posts. Given the quality of many of our Facebook posts, he probably could make that decision without even getting dressed.
