Usually on my bike ride around the section (3 miles gravel, 1 mile blacktop), I see one truck or car every four times Im out. Today, at 6:30 p.m. there was a traffic jam. Grain cart was transferring wheat to wheat truck on one mile. A cultivator taking up the whole road was next. On the next mile it happened again. And then there was the Mom and kids bringing the harvest supper. I just pulled to the side and watched for awhile (I was in the way). What a great section...wheat harvest, mown alfalfa, and tall, green, tasseling corn. Im proud of my farmer neighbors. Its so great to be rural by choice.
