Usually people most involved in evangelism are very interested in doctrine as according to the bible you cannot do the work of an evangelist without it (2 Timothy 4:1-5, Titus 1:9). We are told to take heed to our doctrine as not only our own salvation hinges on it but it also impacts the salvation of those who hear us (1 Timothy 4:16). When people begin preaching, witnessing, evangelizing, and obeying the great commission they will encounter all types of belief systems and be challenged on their own. This naturally leads to more prayerful study and desire for discussion. Armchair observers and self appointed authorities who have only textbook head knowledge and no practical experience will say we should not be arguing all the time about doctrine but busy fulfilling the great commission. LOL
