Usually when I share a video I take the opportunity to use it as a teaching tool. I spend a lot of time trying to teach the importance of vocal training. In my years of doing this Ive encountered 2 basic kinds of people: 1. Those who think because theyre naturally gifted they simply dont need lessons 2. Those who do see the importance of lessons but think celebrity coaches or expensive courses are somehow better. In this video one of the most famous and gifted singers of our time shares that not only does she still have a vocal coach (which she probably pays somewhere between $3-500 an hour) she sees regularly, but she does warm-up exercises. Thats the first point. The second point is that the first exercise youll see her demonstrate is one that youll find in one called lip trills. This exercise is taught by some of the most famous and expensive celebrity vocal coaches around. You can find it in the top 2 home study vocal training courses on the internet, both around $200.
