Utah Department of Transportation Utah Transportation Commission Tooele/SL County Area Tour November 14, 2013 The Midvalley Highway Update convened at 12:32 p.m. in the Tooele City Council Chambers. Kent Millington welcomed the group and introductions were made of those attending. A handout was distributed and Jared Hamner from the Tooele Chamber of Commerce used PowerPoint to present an update on the Midvalley Highway. His presentation covered the following: what is the Midvalley Highway, who are members of the Tooele Chamber of Commerce Midvalley Highway Committee, approved alignment, Phase 1 – northern segment, project details, Phase 1 cost, progress: completed items, remaining items to complete project, safety issues, capacity issues, project economic benefit, jobs created, and conclusion. There was a question and answer period following the presentation, and additional discussion regarding what the next step is. This portion of the Midvalley Update/Tour concluded at 1:07 p.m. The bus departed from the Tooele City Offices at 1:20 p.m. Bryan Adams welcomed the group and gave a brief overview of the tour. A handout containing information on the projects to be seen on the tour was distributed. The following projects were viewed and discussed during the tour: Emergency Operations Center Fiber Connection to TOC, Intersection Realignment, SR-138 and Erda Way, Proposed Alignment, Midvalley Highway, Resurfacing; SR-138, Park & Ride Lot; Stansbury Park, Signs for Driver Feedback; SR-36, Concrete Rehabilitation; I-80 End of Asphalt to 6000 West, Future Reconstruct; I-215, CFI; SR-173 (5400 South), Flex Lanes and Continuous Flow Intersection; SR-173 (5400 South), ThrU-Turn Intersection & Roadway Improvements; SR-173, Mountain View Corridor; SR-85, Diverging Diamond Interchange; SR-201/Bangerter Highway, Concrete Overlay; SR-201, Intersection Realignment & Signal; SR 201/202, Safety & Signal Improvements; SR-36, Drainage and Reconstruct; SR-36.
