Utah State Court Administrator Daniel J. Becker has announced the appointment of Dawn Marie Rubio to the position of Juvenile Court administrator for Utah’s juvenile courts. Rubio replaces Lisa-Michele Church who left to pursue interests in the private sector. Prior to joining the Utah courts, Rubio served as assistant director for the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts where her responsibilities included direction of the courts, children, and families unit. From 1998 to 2009, Rubio worked with the National Center for State Courts as a principal court management consultant where she specialized in issues relating to juvenile and family law. Prior to this, Rubio worked for the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where she directed the Guardian Ad Litem Program and served as program director for Family Court Services. Rubio earned a Juris Doctorate and Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Florida. She is a Fellow of the Court Executive Development Program of the Institute of Court Management. As Juvenile Court administrator, Rubio is responsible for the administration of the juvenile courts, which includes providing administrative support to judges and managing support operations of clerical and probation staff. In addition, the position is responsible for overseeing case management, court facilities, court security, and the budget in the juvenile courts.
