Utilities Water Treatment: Lake Thunderbird water level is 33 inches (2’-9”) above the conservation pool; into the flood pool. This is an increase of 12 inches since last week. The Corps of Engineers is continuing to release about 35 MGD (Million Gallons per Day) from the dam. The average daily water demand for the week was 15.0 MGD. The average daily water demand for the same period last year was 23.5 MGD and we were purchasing water from OKC every day that week. The small thunder and lightning storm that passed through Norman earlier this week struck Well #40 and damaged the electrical components. Operators are assessing damage and making the necessary repairs.
