Uttarakhand and parts of Himachal Pradesh have been engulfed by a terrible tragedy. Nature has unleashed its fury, where thousands of lives have been lost and still more than 5000 tourists are stranded. Our jawans are doing a great great job, and the bravery and magnanimity of their service cannot be expressed in words. What is pathetic is that even in the midst of such a disaster, politics has not stopped. However, given the state of politics in India today, this does not come as a surprise really. But what is really SHOCKING and INSULTING is a report published in Times of India. The Times of India and Times Now group have crossed all limits of journalism ethics by asking the following question to our brave air force pilot Mr Sheikh M Yunus. Please go through this report. We are quoting the lines : [QUOTE] So what was it like for a Muslim to be one of the first to come to the aid of Hindu pilgrims? Yunus laughs out loud before giving a quick answer. "In the Air Force we are taught only one religion - to be Indian. That is what IAF pilots are trained to be. Had it not been for such tragic circumstances, I would have been grateful and happy to see the holy shrine." [UNQUOTE] This kind of dumb and sick question has left all of us astounded. But my dear countrymen, please do not fall into the trap of such journalism, which is trying to divide us. Unity among different religions and communities is the need of the hour. United we stand, Divided we fall. All of us are brothers and sisters, and such people like the above reporter should have no place in our society.
