Uttoxeter Leisure Centre Redevelopment Weekly Update: It was exciting this week to be able to walk around some of the new rooms as internal brick work has continued at pace. This has really started to give the new centre some shape, with each area of the building now starting to get an identity. Along with the internal brick work the concrete slab has also been created at the base of the new spectator area, and work continued on the finishing of the roof on the link building. Finally, the pool is now being prepped for its next stage as all the tiles and drainage channel blocks have been removed. Site Manager Steve had the following update: We have started to see the walls pop up this week as the internal rooms of the link building begin to take shape. There has also been continued efforts on the roof of the link building which is having a second membrane layer added to seal the building, this will continue into next week for completion. Work has also continued on the pool tank, where all the tiles have now been removed and we can prepare the scoured surface for the new tiles. Next week will see the majority of work focus on the continued internal block work, along with the link building roof, pool tank preparation and external cladding. The project continues to run to plan and we look forward to bringing you further updates and pictures next week. Check out our latest pictures on the development.
