Uuuggghhh. Hits me every Holiday. Total mixed emotions. Happy for our unique situation but I hate cooking my Moms recipes because it makes me so homesick!! Thankful to have friends overseas that will bring a ton of joy, and who are in tge same situation. However I always get teary-eyed cooking alone in my kitchen! It goes away when the event starts, and the kids are so happy whether its Thanksgiving and they are enjoying the special foods or Christmas when the gifts are exciting. I always cheer up quick. Seeing beautiful friends helps. But this moment right now as I get the groceries to start is not fun!!
