VA : Medical Care ? : Federal Government : IT : Ineptness and incompetence : Called the VA to make an appointment. First they try to get you to call 911 or other numbers to seek mental assistance, but give you a press 2 of 5 for scheduling an appointment. Press 2, then 1 for Primary care. Primary care then sends you to the Dayton Emergency Clinic, and asks questions at which time it states that the VA is closed until 4:00 PM local time, at which time they state, call back then and have a great day and they hang up. There is no way to actually talk to a person to get an appointment. Now, this is calling both numbers including the local and the 1-800 numbers which the card they sent me include. So, it would appear that two weeks waiting time is the least of a persons concern, as the phone system keeps you from talking to anyone to make an appointment Perhaps this is the VAs solution to keep their 2 week service time intact, as you can not even contact them to get your name on the hidden list. Will try later, and see if they have one competent person working in the IT department. Perhaps they are still using CSA college students to run their data centers, or perhaps, they have hard drive crashes like the IRS.... By the way, I am a world renowned computer expert even within the dregs of large computer systems known as the DOD, NASA among others... Ever wonder why we quit sending shuttles to space ? Obama happened, that is why.
