VACANCIES OF TEACHING STAFF IN APPNA INSTITUTE OF PUBLIC HEALTH/SINDH MEDICAL COLLEGE, JINNAH SINDH MEDICAL UNIVERSITY, KARACHI. 1.Professor (Public Health, Community Medicine, Forensic Medicine) Contract As per HEC Rules: Minimum Qualification: Ph.D from an HEC recognized University/Institution. Experience: 10-years post M.Phil teaching/ research experience in HEC recognized University or a post-graduate Institution or professional experience in the relevant field in a National or International organization. Note: After 30th June, 2010, 8 years post PhD level experience in an HEC recognized University or a postgraduate Institution or professional experience in the relevant field in a National or International organization will be required. Minimum Publications: 08/12/15 research publications in journals recognized jointly by HEC and PMDC by calendar years 2009/2011/2013 (with at least 2/3/5 of these publications in the last five years). As per PMDC Rules: Qualification: MBBS or equivalent medical qualifications fully recognized / registered by the PM&DC. PM&DC recognized level II b (M.Phil and qualification with other nomenclatures) and level III(FCPS/PhD/and qualification other nomenclatures) Qualifications in Public Health/Community Medicine/Forensic Medicine. OR Equivalent PM&DC level II b (M.Phil and qualification with other nomenclatures) and level III (FCPS/PhD/and qualification other nomenclatures). Qualifications in Public Health/Community Medicine/Forensic Medicine approved for teaching by SRC and recognized / registered by PM&DC. Experience: 3 years teaching experience as an Associate Professor in the Public Health/Community Medicine/Forensic Medicine. OR 9 year teaching experience as an Assistant Professor in Public Health/Community Medicine/ Forensic Medicine. Publication: A total of at least five research publications are required. Only an original article published in a medical journal approved by the PM&DC shall be acceptable. Dissertation / Thesis shall not be counted. 2. Associate Professor (Public Health, Community Medicine, Forensic Medicine) Contract As per HEC Rules: Minimum Qualification: Ph.D from an HEC recognized University/Institution. Experience: 10 years teaching / research experience in an HEC recognized University or post-graduate institution or professional experience in the relevant field in a National or International organization. OR 5 years post MPhil teaching experience till 2014. Publications: 5/8/10 research publications in journals recognized jointly by HEC and PMDC by calendar years 2009/2011/2013 (with at least 1/2/4 of these publications in the least five years). As per PMDC Rules: Qualification: MBBS or equivalent medical qualifications fully recognized / registered by the PM&DC. PM&DC recognized level II b (M.Phil and qualification with other nomenclatures) and level III (FCPS/PhD/and qualification other nomenclatures) Qualifications in Public Health/Community Medicine/ Forensic Medicine. OR Equivalent PM&DC level II b and level III Qualifications in Public Health/Community Medicine/Forensic Medicine approved for teaching by SRC and recognized / registered by PM&DC. Experience: 5 years teaching experience as an Assistant Professor in Public Health/Community Medicine/ Forensic Medicine. Publication: A total of at least three research publications are required. Only an original article published in a medical journal approved by the PM&DC shall be acceptable. Dissertation / Thesis shall not be counted. 3.Assistant Professor (Public Health, Community Medicine, Forensic Medicine) Contract As per HEC Rules: Qualification: Ph.D in the relevant field from an HEC recognized University/Institution OR equivalent degree awarded after 18-years of education in Public Health/Community Medicine/Forensic Medicine as determined by the HEC. Experience: a) No experience is required. b) 4 years teaching / research experience in a recognized University or a Post-graduate institution or professional experience in Public Health/Community Medicine/Forensic Medicine in a National or International organization. As per PMDC Rules: Qualification: MBBS or equivalent medical qualifications fully recognized / registered by the PM&DC. PM&DC recognized level II b (M.Phil and qualification with other nomenclatures) and level III (FCPS/PhD/and qualification other nomenclatures) qualification in Public Health/Community Medicine/ Forensic Medicine. Or Equivalent PM&DC level II a(M.Sc Basic Science) , II b (M.Phil and qualification with other nomenclatures) and level III(FCPS/PhD/and qualification other nomenclatures) qualifications in Public Health/Community Medicine/Forensic Medicine approved for teaching by SRC and recognized / registered by PM&DC. Experience: 3 year teaching experience as senior lecturer experience before or after level II b (M.Phil and qualification with other nomenclatures). No experience is required for level III (FCPS/PhD/and qualification other nomenclatures) post graduation who can be appointed directly as Assistant Professor. 4.Lecturer (Public Health, Community Medicine, Forensic Medicine) Contract As per HEC Rules: Qualification: MBBS with no 3rd Division in the Academic Career from an HEC recognized University/Institution. As per PMDC Rules: Qualification: MBBS fully recognized / registered by the PM&DC OR MSC/MPH in Public Health/Community Medicine/Forensic Medicine or in related Discipline 1. Only Sindh domiciled are eligible. 2. Application should be sent along with two photographs, one set of attested photocopy of relevant documents in a sealed envelop, with three current referral letters and brief curriculum vitae. 3. Incomplete application in any manner will be rejected. 4. All information will be kept confidential. 5.
