VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT Position title: Case Worker Duty station: Khartoum, Sudan Classification: Special, three months with possibility of extension Grade: G5 Estimated Start Date: As soon as possible Closing Date: September 01, 2014 Context: Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission and the direct supervision of the Mixed Migration Project Coordinator, the successful candidate will assist victims of trafficking, vulnerable migrants and migrants at risk of trafficking. The psychosocial caseworker is expected to carry out his/her duties in accordance with strictest moral and ethical standards and with due respect for gender and socio-cultural differences of the victims. In Particular s/he will be responsible for: Core Functions / Responsibilities: 1. Carry out interviews with potential victims of trafficking and vulnerable migrants, determine if eligible for assistance, and refer them to relevant partners as needed. 2. Provide psychosocial counseling to victims of trafficking and vulnerable migrants (especially women and UAM). 3. Counseling could be at the beneficiary’s place of residence, partner’s or at IOMs office. 4. Coordinate and monitor the assistance provided to each of the beneficiaries. 5. Monitor beneficiaries in accordance with IOM SOPs on provision of direct assistance. 6. Prepare case management reports for each beneficiary on a regular basis. 7. Ensure appropriate data management of beneficiaries, including entering data into IOM databases on assistance and proper filing. 8. Liaise with UNHCR and send them Joint Screening Form (JSF) for VOTs who are also Persons of Concern for UNHCR. 9. Prepare statistics, reports and analysis as requested. 10. Ensure the confidentiality of all beneficiaries. 11. Act as a focal point with relevant government authorities. 12. Support the AVRR team in the screening of AVRR beneficiaries. 13. Facilitate trainings on victim identification and direct assistance. 14. Perform such other duties as may be assigned. Technical a) Strong interpersonal and organizational capabilities; b) High level of professionalism and ability to work independently, under pressure and to adhere to strict deadlines; c) Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds. Desirable Qualifications and Experience a) University degree in Social Science, Psychology, Case Management or related field; b) Minimum combined five years of experience; c) Experience in working with governmental and non-governmental organizations as well as with international organizations. d) Excellent knowledge in word processing and typing skills in English and Arabic; and e) experience working with Excel and databases. Languages Thorough knowledge of English and Arabic,knowledge of Tigrinya and Amharic an advantage How to apply: Applications should be submitted by 01 September.
