VACANCY ANOUNCEMENT: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Rural Women Peace Link is a dynamic women’s led non-governmental organization that is pro-actively engaged in promoting the rights and empowerment of women through positive engagement with both state and non-state actors. We wish to fill the vacant position of EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, who will report to the RWPL Board. The person shall assume overall program management and be responsible for staff, project implementation, M&E and knowledge management. She will also offer technical support and input towards prudent financial and budget management, program administration and procurement support, promote liaison between the organization and partners for effective networking and collaboration. The desired candidate will have to possess and/or meet the following basic qualifications and experience: - Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or other relevant field graduate degree preferred; - A postgraduate diploma in project management; - Minimum 5 years’ relevant professional experience working with communities and program management; - Knowledge of peace building and background of regional conflicts in the project area; - Familiarity with civic education concerns and the new constitution; - Awareness of the particular needs and related program considerations for vulnerable populations; - Familiarity and experience with USAID, UN rules and regulations; - Ability to work independently while being a strong team player; - Ability to analyze political environment, define problems, collect data, establish facts and validate outcomes; - Strong writing skills to effectively create clear and concise meeting notes and reports. - Strong oral communications skills to effectively present information, respond to questions and represent RWPL as required; - Demonstrated ability to work constructively in a team and with partners; - Sensitive and attentive to detail; - Ability to interact clearly and effectively with donors and partner organizations; - Advanced working knowledge of computer software and applications, essentially MS Word, Access, Excel and social media; - Excellent command of both spoken and written English and Kiswahili languages. Other local languages will be an added advantage. This is a senior position that requires a mature, innovative and self-driven individual. Other tasks and responsibilities will be dictated according to the terms and conditions of the job entitlement. The individual will be based in Eldoret office with minimized travel to the field for supervision and coordination of activities as need arises.
