VACANCY: E, C & I ENGINEER (Modderfontein) International multi-disciplinary engineering group are looking for an experienced E, C & I ENGINEER to work at their Modderfontein operation. DUTIES: a) Assist with preparation of P & ID’s and design documentation including plant layout design b) Preparation of single line diagrams, electrical load list, IO lists, alarm and trip lists, trip matrixes, control architecture, loop diagrams, MCC/PLC cabinet layouts, etc. c) Obtain cost estimates for Instrumentation, Control systems, Electrical motor control centres, including estimates for Installation and Commissioning of all items related to EC&I d) Carry out all the design and procurement work in accordance with client specifications e) Assessment of client specifications to prepare proposals/reports on cost-saving alternatives f) Coordination of EC&I concessions, technical proposals and variation orders on projects g) Assist with the preparation of Process Control Philosophy and Functional Design Specification documentation h) Assist with the specification of PLC, SCADA and/or Human machine interfaces during project execution phase i) Preparing detailed EC&I Bill of Materials j) EC&I equipment and subcontract scope of work specification k) Technical and commercial adjudication of EC&I subcontractor proposals l) EC&I subcontractor evaluation m) Complete work according to standard engineering principles and practices n) Monitor and review hardware and software products relating to automation and information technologies o) Keep current in automation and network computing technology trends p) Represent the company during meetings q) Facilitate and perform factory acceptance tests (hardware and software) r) Provide project-specific input to Lead Engineer and Project Manager to resolve construction issues during site work s) Hot and cold commissioning assistance, including coordination of EC&I pre-commissioning activities e.g. punching, loop checking and sign-off of check sheets t) Maintain currency of professional competence and specialist knowledge REQUIREMENTS: a) Degree or Diploma in electrical or electronic engineering. b) Minimum of three years experience as an EC&I Engineer in water treatment, turnkey projects or a similar field (projects) c) Must be computer literate (MS Office) d) Have good communication and organisational skills PACKAGE: R40,000 to R60,000 (CTC – depending on experience) Please email your CV in MS-WORD format to: [email protected] / ian(at)cornerstoneconsulting(dot)co(dot)za with the reference ECI in the subjectline.
