VACANCY Job Title: Human Resource Officer (Kenya/Ghana/Nigeria) Department: HR Work Location: Kenya/Ghana/Nigeria 1: Purpose of the Job: The role of the HR Officer is to provide support functionality to the GM – East Africa in all matters pertaining to the establishment and Development of an HR Function within the company in Kenya/Ghana/Nigeria. 2: Essential Functions and Responsibilities Payroll Submit all payroll related information to Head Office Payroll Office –e.g. overtime, new appointments, terminations Record leave on VIP Carry out leave audits & report deviations to GM – East Africa Job Descriptions Ensure that accurate job descriptions are in place Provide advice and assistance with writing job descriptions as per SOP Performance Appraisals Provide advice and assistance when conducting staff performance appraisals as per SOP Recruitment & Selection Provide advice and assistance to management on staff recruitment Obtain signed requisition before recruitment process begins Prepare notices and advertisements for vacant staff positions. Schedule and organize interviews Participate in applicant interviews Conduct reference checks on possible candidates Draw up employment contracts, and hand to new employees together with Job Description and the company Policy and Procedure Manual. Arrange Induction for new employees. Conduct exit interviews Training Promote and advance learning culture Identify training & development opportunities Train & record all HR SOPs Keep training matrix up to date Organize staff training sessions Externally source & coordinate any external training requested Communication Arrange Birthday Breakfast for employees monthly Employee Documentation Maintain personal files for employees IR issues Provide advice and recommendations on disciplinary actions File all IR documents in the employee file Employee Wellness Enrol qualifying new employees on medical aid Source medical aid quotations Coordinate Wellness Days 3: Knowledge and Skills Required: Relevant tertiary degree/diploma with 3 years’ experience in a similar role Excellent communication & administrative skills Good communication and writing skills Problem solving skills Team Building Skills Interested parties should send in applications to [email protected] with the title "HRO Kenya/Ghana/Nigeria" before the 20th of July 2013.
