VACANCY: PRINCIPAL INFORMATION, EDUCATION AND COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER II VACANCY NO 3 OF 2014 SALARY: D3 (P190, 104 – P 209,868) Applications are invited from suitably qualified citizens for the following position in Education, Communications and Advocacy Division at the National AIDS Coordinating Agency. Qualification: Degree in Psychology, Social Anthropology or Nursing. A Maters degree would be an added advantage. Experience: 8 years relevant working experience of which two years should have been served at D4 in the public sector or its equivalent in a parastatal organization or private sector. Main Purpose of the Job: To facilitate greater awareness of the pandemic and preventative measures on HIV and AIDS activities of stakeholders at national and community level. DUTIES 1. Provides information to customers on HIV and AIDS 2. Develop behaviour change information and communications programmes 3. Coordinates regular visits to each districts for purposes of compiling, supporting, monitoring and evaluating their HIV and AIDS work plans 4. Conducts needs assessment to inform capacity building 5. Initiates, compiles and maintains an inventory of all HIV and AIDS IEC programmes and interventions 6. Identifies and recommends potential areas for carrying out behavior surveillance surveys at national and community levels 7. Provides technical support for implementing partners on behavior change interventions 8.
