REPORTING TO: Operations Manager MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & COMPETENCIES: • Qualified Rigger • Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment Certificate (HIRA) • Supervisory experience with a minimum of 5 years within a Marine/Structural environment. • Attention to detail • Computer literate • Deadline driven • Ability to operate within a team environment • Ability to coach mentor and discipline • Good communication skills • Foreward planning ability • Exceptional skills in the compiling of Lifting and Rigging studies • Good understanding of the Permit to Work system • Good understanding of confined space hazards. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • To ensure timeous, safe and cost effective rigging and lifting of equipment as per Company standards & safety instructions • To implement and ensure adherence to safe working conditions and environment. • Knowledge of OSHAS 18001:2007. • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2008 & ISO 140001 working procedures. • Adherence to the Permit to Work system. • Compile method statements, and risk assessments • Ensure proper use of associated equipment and tools. • Manage and lead integrated teams. • Adhere to company Policies and Procedures. • Ensure that subordinates are efficiently skilled and utilized. • Assist with project planning and adherence to project plan. • Give accurate daily feedback in project meetings. • Ensure that customer requirements are constantly achieved. • Be able to work in confined spaces and at heights. • Be able to cope under pressure and must be prepared to work extended hours including weekends. • Should be able to motivate and train employees. • Performance management of the workforce (Time & Attendance, etc.). • Extensive experience in identifying hazards in the workplace and the implementation of effective control measures. • Immediate reporting of all incidents to the SHEQ Department.
