VACANCY STORM MOUNTAIN DIAMONDS INSTRUMENTS TECHNICIAN Storm Mountain Diamonds (PTY) Ltd operates a Kimberlite Diamond Mine at Kao in the Botha-Bothe district. SMD requires the full time services of an Instrument Technician who meets the following minimum qualifications. Purpose of the position: To ensure efficient installation, maintenance and smooth operation of the instruments in the process plant Qualifications: This position requires a qualified Instrumentation Technician with the following qualities. • C.O.S.C, grade 12 or N3 qualification and a strong installation / instrumentation / automation and PLC background • Relevant instrumentation / PLC experience in the diamond environment • Good general knowledge of electrical equipment up to 11kv • Experience in instrumentation, automation and PLC commissioning as well as working knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC systems • Experience in SCADA commissioning as well as working knowledge of SCADA systems • Hands-on experience in utilizing planned maintenance systems and be conversant with different types of maintenance • Basic mechanical knowledge Job Responsibilities: • Perform general plant maintenance duties • Assess and rectify malfunctions • Perform planned maintenance • Perform preventive maintenance on a continual basis • Identify and implement instrument / automation / PLC improvement Interested applicants should mail their CV with certified copies of qualifications to the attention of the Human Resources Officer at khoethat@stormmountaindiamonds.
