No.. he didnt end the White Australia policy (Menzies had more to do with that); nor begin improved treatment of Aborigines (try Sir Paul Hasluck); nor begin Commonwealth Scholarships and a Medical safety net (Menzies); nor allow Vietnamese refugees (Fraser) and if the LCP had won in 1972, Australia would have still pulled out of Vietnam. Gorton began this in 1969. What he did do was bugger up the economy and try to continue to rule illegally with Iraqi petro-dollars. Arrogant and incompetent!
