VALUE DETERMINES VIRTUE QUOTE: “VALUE PLACED ON A THING DETERMINES VIRTUE DRAWN FROM IT” Text: “But Jesus said, “Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me” Luke 8:46. To place value on a thing simply means to have respect or high regard for such a thing. It means to believe in a thing or a person to the extent of taking physical actions towards embracing such thing. There were many people having close body contact with Jesus but it was only one woman that really drew virtue from Him (Luke 8:45-46). I guess this is a product of faith and value. Similarly, other wives of David bore him children except Michal, the daughter of Saul who despised him in her heart. (2 Samuel 6:23). Many saw Jesus as the carpenter’s son, but only a few people that saw Him as the son of God, miracle worker and the Messiah drew virtue from Him. Sometimes your ‘Amen’ to the prophetic declaration of a man of God can change your location. Sometimes ago, a man of God was having devotion with a family one day. While they were praying, he said that very soon, someone among them would travel overseas. Everyone who heard the prophetic declaration took it lightly and laughed. However, a house girl who was among them believed what the man of God said and she shouted a very loud ‘Amen’. In just a few days, a church member walked up to the man of God and told him that he would be travelling abroad very soon. He then told the man of God that he would like to take someone along with him; so he requested that the man of God recommend someone. Of course, the man of God recalled what happened a few days earlier in that early morning devotion. He remembered it was a house-help who obviously believed and embraced his words. Thus, he quickly recommended the house girl and that was how the little girl left the country and went abroad. Your faith, actions and utterances in response to a declaration, made by a servant of God on anything are vital to the drawing of virtues. Whatever or whoever you do not believe in or respect cannot bless you. Reflect deeply on this and effect a positive change. Keep rising!
