VEDA, Knowledge or Wisdom, is the basis of Indian Culture. RIG VEDA: Book of Mantra, is a collection of inspired songs or hymns. Considered to be a main source of information on the Rig Vedic civilization. It contains the earliest form of all Sanskrit mantras that date back to 1500 B.C. - 1000 B.C. SAMA VEDA: Book of Song, is a collection of melodies (‘saman’), used as musical notes, (vibrations), with no distinctive lessons of their own. They are a harmonious, synthesized, fusion of the Rig Veda. YAJUR VEDA: Book of Ritual, is a guidebook for ceremonial practice. ATHARVA VEDA:Book of Incantation, is different from the other three Vedas, however, it portrays a clearer picture of the Vedic society. Heres what Sri Swamiji says: Some have tried to conduct, and some are still conducting, research about the period of Vedas. They are like those who try to find out when the first wave arose on the ocean. Veda Mantras, revealed in the hearts of the deserved, will remain on earth as long as the disciples fit for their grace is there.- Puja Sri Swamiji, Sadguru Sookti Sangraha, page 118
