VERY HEAVY RAINFALL IS ON THE CARDS FOR THE CAPRICORNIA DISTRICTS. POSSIBLE FLASH FLOODING. BOM WARNING ISSUED AT 2:07AM. TOP PRIORITY FOR IMMEDIATE BROADCAST SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING for HEAVY RAINFALL For people in the Capricornia and parts of the Central Highlands and Coalfields Forecast Districts. Issued at 2:07 am Friday, 12 December 2014. Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Gladstone, Rockhampton, Biloela, Blackwater, Yeppoon and St Lawrence. Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should: * Avoid driving, walking or riding through flood waters. * Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees. * Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm. * Beware of fallen trees and powerlines. * For emergency assistance contact the SES on 132 500. The next warning is due to be issued by 5:10 am. Warnings are also available through TV and Radio broadcasts, the Bureaus website at bom.gov.au or call 1300 659 219. The Bureau and Queensland Fire and Emergency Services would appreciate warnings being broadcast regularly.
