VERY INTERESTING: ANNUAL INCOME OF ALL THE VOTERS COMBINED IN THE ASSEMBLY CONSTITUENCY LESS THAN THE DECLARED ASSETS OF THE CANDIDATE ELECTED UNOPPOSED: When I read in the morning papers this fact of the richest candidate in Arunachal Pradesh being worth more than 187 crores, I did not have these facts. I looked at additional facts about the constituency and the state more closely. According to data available Palin Assembly constituency has total 13,811 electors, all men and women included. A quick check at per capita income revealed that per capita income of people in Arunachal Pradesh in 2012-2013 is 77,647 for the whole year. Quick calculation revealed that if you multiply total voters with per capita income of a citizen in Arunachal Pradesh, it comes to 107,23,82,717 that is 107.23 crores. This means that what total population of the constituency earns in one full year is 80 crore less than the declared assets of this candidate who has been elected unopposed. So much for the democracy being for the people, by the people and for the people.
