VESSELS OF GOD! a vessel is a carrier a container especially for holding liquids. From my interpretation a vessel is basically empty until filled. a mere carrier, container. but container of what. Liquids or water. WATER in the bible is THE WORD. So then if the water is the word and we are vessels ...we should be filled with the word. Carriers of the word. When we say we are vessels of God waiting to be used, we are expressing our dependence on God for what he wants us to do. As children of God we present our bodies as living sacrifice unto him. We yield ourselves to him so he can use us. We are the ones to represent him on this earth and we can only do this when THE WORD lives inside us (WHEN THE VESSEL IS FILLED). In Proverbs 4 AND 7 we are admonished to keep Gods words, treasure up the commandments with you keep the teachings as the apple of your eye, and write the word upon the tablets of your heart. its how we gain wisdom. Keep Gods word close to you. It is our weapon of warfare. We cannot function without it. in John 5:19 Jesus is God yet he states that he can do nothing but what God the father has for him. Jesus understood that he could do nothing without God, that he was just a vessel being used to fulfill Gods purpose on the earth. Its the same with us today, we can do nothing without the direction of the Holy Spirit who lives in us and fills us with the word. But are we receptive to what the Spirit is saying and doing in our lives. When we empty ourselves and allow God to fill us we can accomplish any task before us because he guides our hands our thoughts our words our steps. he orders everything we do. So again it comes back to the fact that we are simply vessels waiting to be filled to fulfill the purpose of God on this earth. So Today, understand that you are a vessel that God is waiting to fill and Give yourself away so God can use you and we can make this place more of heaven because his presence will always be with us in everything we do.
