VGP – Foreign Ministry Spokesman Le Hai Binh revealed on August 7 at a regular press conference that as many as 246 Vietnamese workers safely left Libya. Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Le Hai Binh - Photo: VGP The Ministries of Foreign Affairs (MFA), Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and Vietnamese representative agencies in Libya, Turkey, Egypt and Algeria are closely working with companies in charge of these workers to launch measures and plans to ensure safety for Vietnamese laborers in Libya. The MFA sent diplomatic notes to the Embassies of the Philippines and Thailand in Viet Nam asking them to help remove Vietnamese citizens out of dangerous areas. Vietnamese representative agencies in Turkey, Egypt and Algeria have worked with local agencies on conditions to facilitate Vietnamese workers’ return. In the coming time, Vietnamese laborers will go home by air. When asked about Viet Nam’s reaction to the Israel-Palestine issues following a new ceasefire agreement, Mr. Binh said that Viet Nam condemned military activities at the Gaza Strip, which caused deaths and damages to local people and the United Nations officials. Viet Nam called on the related sides to respect the immediate ceasefire agreement and accelerate negotiations to bring peace and stability to the region. By Thuy Dung
