VICTIMs of LOVE? What am I to become, if im unworthy of your love? ~ St Therese of Lisieux ...Usually, i take a shortcut in MtOur Lady Of Mount Carmel Shrine Parish church, when im hurried to my regular meeting with my friends in New Manila subdivision.. i enter the front high steps of the church, going the the back entrance, walking in the side aisle... There she was, a lady i often meet at St.Therese chapel mass every morning! Awkwardly, we both sit at the back of the church, whoever comes first, gets to sit in the 0ther end of the pew. Obviously, somebody has to give way, but every day- nobody seemed to give an inch or budge. tThe only time we look at each other is in the Peace be with you part of the mass, i try to maintain pleasant eye contact but she quickly draw away, after a flash of smile? I have my reasons. My first- cousin is a priest, Fr Don Competente(OCD), Order of the Casrmeltes, discalced.He often celebrates mass, sometimes in the morning. He stayed in our house, while he is studying in college, industrial engineering. when he graduated, he entered outright in the semenary. a victim of Gods calling, he didnt refuse. right now, he is the student director of the Carmel semenary. he too was a withess in my struggles; frailties, and travails.... At my turn in the corner, she quickly bows her head quickly and closes her eyes, i often see her already kneeling. What interested me, is she kneels on her knees, and moves in line until she recieves communion! and she doesnt smile, i wondered is she hurting- a victim of love? I kept my thought detached, i go on, walking zazen, im earlier today.My friends are also victims of circumstances, they chose welness and recovery- with the help of God. Many years i remain: an 0ldtimer, providing wisdom, guidance, and inspirations etc..a victim of Love too Proudly, for 16 yearsNoW --AndGoing!!!
