The exhibition “Word for word: Sephardic Ladino Bibles in a Madrid collection” is a large sample of editions of the Bible published by Sephardic people. The books on display are dated between 1553 and 1946, almost four centuries, and in terms of geographic distribution, there are items printed in Amsterdam, Constantinople, Smyrna, Ferrara, Jerusalem, Livorno, London, Pisa, Thessaloniki, Venice and Vienna. It is the largest solo exhibition of Sephardic bibles organized so far. The exhibition includes original copies of more than ninety editions.
