VIDEO BLAST FROM THE PAST – KINDOF Here is a short film from the Early Year’s Reception Unit (now called the Early Years Foundation Stage, EYFS in England) at Bricknell Primary School in my home town of Hull in Yorkshire. It features the voices of children who attend here making some very interesting points. Plus, I find the backgrounds very interesting as much of the play space featured was designed by myself many years ago. In fact, this was one of the earliest whole-school spaces I designed and over a period of years the then headteacher, Graeme Brook, allowed me a lot of free scope to experiment with ideas and design features. Those early experiments allowed me to test out what really worked and did not so setting a standard for much of the work I did over the next ten years or so.
