VIDEO: Kwara PDP Delegates were heavily bribed by all aspirants - Oyedepo ===== The Kwara state Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairman, Chief Akogun Iyiola Oyedepo has alleged that the delegates of the party at the governorship primaries were heavily bribed by the aspirants, e-Kwara has gathered. He made this allegation recently in a video interview with Channels TV at the Ilorin International Airport, on his way to Abuja. Oyedepo noted that the result of the governorship primaries may not reflect the true wish of the delegates due to heavy financial inducements thrown at them by all aspirants. He said: The primary election was free, fair and okay, except for the excessive use of money by the aspirants and all the aspirants are guilty of that. He therefore urged that political parties in Nigeria should find another means of electing flagbearers instead of using primary elections. I believe we should review the use of delegates for [primary] election because it is obvious that delegates are not the best to make leaders in this country. Some of the delegates are pathetically poor and a sight of N200,000 can make them crazy, he concluded. The National Pilot reported, last week Tuesday, that Sen. Simon Ajibola, the winner of the primaries, allegedly doled out N250,000 plus a Plasma TV to each delegate to secure their votes.
