VIDEO OF THE DAY: Uptown Funk” by Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars Since posting The Hustle yesterday as our DRUM TRACK OF THE DAY, weve been in full dance mode here at Vics. That got us thinking about this recent chart topping hit. British DJ/producer/guitarist Mark Ronson recently collaborated with pop superstar Bruno Mars to write and produce Uptown Funk. Mars not only provides the vocals but also plays the drums as well. (Live, Mars brother Eric Hernandez holds the drum chair.) Ronson contributed his share to the rhythm track by programming the Linn Drums. When listening to the music and watching the video, we definitely hear the obvious influence of artists like Morris Day and The Time, The Gap Band, and even Kid Creole and The Coconuts. Although no one is actually shown playing drums on this video, we couldnt help ourselves. We just had to post this. This video is ALL about rhythm!
