VIDEO: Watch Marcus Mariotas emotional Heisman Trophy acceptance speech By Joel Odom | jodom@oregonian December 13, 2014 at 6:38 PM Oregon Ducks quarterback Marcus Mariota won the Heisman Trophy on Saturday night in New York City, garnering 90.9 percent of the first-place vote — the second most in the awards history. Mariota put up impressive numbers in leading the Ducks (12-1) to the inaugural College Football Playoff. He passed for 3,783 yards, rushed for 669 yards and accounted for 53 total touchdowns. After he stepped to the stage, Mariota gave an emotional acceptance speech before shaking hands with all of the past Heisman winners present at the ceremony and then, finally, grabbing the 25-pound trophy.
