VIETNAM AIRLINES STARTED NEW FLIGHT TO TAIWAN Hanoi, Dec. 13 (CAN) VietJet Air, a budget airline from Vietnam, launched its maiden flight to Taipei Friday, and the carrier said that the new route received a warm welcome. The first flight to Taipei, which was fully booked, took off from Ho Chi Minh City at 2:30 p.m. Vietnam time and arrived at the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport at 6:55 p.m. local time, carrying a total of 180 passengers. VietJet used an A320 aircraft to serve the new route. The plane was painted with the carriers logo VietJet in English and its slogan Enjoy Flying in Vietnamese. With the Christmas season approaching, flight attendants wore special deer horn hair ornaments to celebrate the maiden flight. Many passengers said they were impressed with the service. Among the 180 passengers on the flight was a Vietnamese magician who performed in front of the other passengers and drew applause. On the flight, attendants also handed out gifts to the passengers, exclusively for the maiden flight. After the flight arrived in Taipei, VietJet held a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Its flight attendants danced to boost the atmosphere, while Chinese traditional dragon and lion dances also attracted attention at the airport.
