VIEWGAP, A = Adolescent Thinking: • An intense preoccupation with their own feelings. • A misplaced belief that they are special and unique. • Imaginary Audience: Encouraged by the fleeting attention they receive from others, they mistakenly think they are the primary focus of others’ attention (style, body, hair). They falsely perceive that others must do the same thing that they do - namely, think about and monitor them. They fail to realize that while they may be preoccupied with themselves, others are not so inclined.
