VIJAYASREE [ document] An Educational Project of District Panchayath, Palakkad 1. Programme vision, goals and Objectives Palakkad revenue district , among other 14 districts in Kerla State, has been lagging behind in almost all social scenario such as economic, educational & ethnic realms. The developmental activities in different areas to address the issues have brought forth remarkable transformation in many social segments. Educational infrastructural developments , quantitative as well as qualitative, for the last four decades, have added flora and fauna to other sectors of the society as a whole. The SSLC result, which is considered as a basic scholastic record , has significantly improved by attaining 92.6 % in the district, last year. Three decades ago, only 33% students in the SSLC classes were eligible for higher studies. This incredible growth , no doubt, is the part and parcel of the paradigm shift in the curricular transactions in our State. The special educational project launched by the District Panchayath , namely ‘Harisree’ for the last one and a half decades , have contributed a lot in the qualitative enhancement of the teaching learning process. The special component project, ‘Vijayasree’, focused on the SSLC result and grade improvement programme, which has been internalized by all High Schools in the district, made a 10% leap in the district for the last four years. Though our district has attained an A+ grade regarding the percentage of students eligible for higher studies in the SSLC classes , we have been located in the last bench as far the terminal scholastic performance of the fourteen districts of our State is concerned. This state of affair has to be addressed. To get eligibility for higher studies for all SSLC students is our vision and to have better grades in all subjects for all students is our motto. Goals of the programme 1.The High schools in Palakkad district will make whole-hearted efforts to register significant improvement in learner achievement in SSLC examination 2015. 2.The High schools in the district will reduce the differences in learner achievement seen across different subjects, girls and boys and students from poor social background. 3.The High schools in the district will further augment the confidence of the community, parents and people representatives in public education and improve the participation levels of them in school activities. Process outputs 1.All schools in Palakkad district will attain a minimum 10% improvement in learner achievement in SSLC examination 2015. 2.All the High schools in Palakkad district will register 10% improvement in the number of students who receive A+ in all subjects in SSLC examination 2015. 3.All the High schools in the district will register 10% increase in the attendance of parents, community members and people representatives in school structures like PTA, MPTA, SMC, School Development Council and other functions in 2.Programme Management-Different levels A seven stage programme management to achieve the goals has got a strong HRD management system.
