VINCENNES EDUCATION FOUNDATION Meeting, Wednesday, August 28, 2013 The Vincennes Education Foundation Board of Directors met on Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at 7:00 p.m. at the Administrative Service Center. Board members present were: Tom Nonte, Angie Barthalomew, Angie Phillips, Cathy Lindsey, Jennifer Meadows, Tony Meadows, Karla Smith, Cindy Pagan, Tracee McNeece, Pat Hutchison, Amanda Linn, Stacey Foster, Jonathan Lange, Greg Parsley, Alma Kramer, Erica Combs, Barry Stone, Dirk Yoder and Kristy Deetz. The meeting was called to order by President Tom Nonte at 7:00 p.m. New board members Laurie Newman, Alma Kramer, Beth Lindsey, Donna Beaman, Jason Fithian and Tai Blythe were approved. Motion made by Cathy Lindsey, seconded by Cindy Pagan. Secretary minutes were reviewed. Motion made by Pat Hutchison seconded by Tony Meadows. Tom Nonte presented the treasurer’s report in Kim Lane’s absence. It was approved by Greg Parsley, seconded by Cindy Pagan. Old Business By-Laws – President Tom Nonte suggested changes to the by-laws. Most new changes involve the new address of the Foundation. Another change was to name Greg Parsley as the Principal Officer. In Sect. 4, change “although” to “as stated in articles”. Sect. 7, change to send out notices by electronic communication. Sect 3, Article 6, delete “elected official can’t serve more than three consecutive terms. All changes were unanimously approved. New Business Homecoming Update – It is too late to not do the Friday October 4th downtown function. Will decide next April on whether we want to stop doing this and will let the organizers know well ahead of time. A discussion was held to see if some other vendor may be interested in doing it for us this year. Mr. Parsley will check with Lynne Bobe and John Litherland to see if they would want to do it. Golf Outing – Tony Meadows will be contacting members to volunteer to be “hole watchers”, Karla and Tim Smith will be handling favors, Sodexo donating golf balls again this year. Elizabeth Bauer will be at registration table. The committee will be meeting to put it all together. Rockin for Kids – Kristie Deetz will chair the event this year. She will meet with Elizabeth Bauer to go over details. It seems the only venue available is the Eagles. A date for the event will be discussed at the September meeting. Adams Coliseum Update – The legal work is being done. Committee will get together at a later date. Clark Crossing Project Update – Construction will start the 1st of November. Former administration building will be done first. Adams Coliseum will probably be down for a year. Andrew Porter will handle our concerns free of charge. Dirk Yoder is our accountant free of charge. Discussion Items ; Barry Stone suggested that a welcome kit be given to all new employees. The VCSC has many new teachers this year and this may be a way of making them feel they fit in better. Angie Bartholomew and Cindy Pagan will help Barry with this. They were asked to come back in September with ideas. The next meeting will be September 25, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
