VIPA Issues Flight and Ship Schedule Update as Tropical Storm Chantal Approaches the USVI The U.S. Virgin Islands awaits the arrival of Tropical Storm Chantal, which is expected to affect the territory early tomorrow morning and possibly bring high winds and between three to six inches of rain. The impending weather, however, has not affected scheduled flights or sea vessel traffic to the territory, said VI Port Authority Executive Director Carlton Dowe. Dowe said that Royal Caribbean’s Allure of the Seas is the only cruise ship scheduled to visit the territory tomorrow, and the ship’s agent has reported that it will berth in Crown Bay, St. Thomas as scheduled. Inter-island ferry services are expected to continue as normal tomorrow as well, he said. No airlines have reported any flight cancellations to St. Thomas or St. Croix thus far, said Dowe. The Port Authority will continue to keep the public updated as they monitor the weather conditions.
