VISION: To put the organization ahead of other fraternity and organization in terms of more dynamic and comprehensive strategies, programs and projects that will uplift the capability of members and capacity of the organization to deal in a wider responsibilities of humanitarian services. MISSION: To motivate our Fellow Alumni especially the Professionals that there is hope for our Fraternity after collegiate, and to prepare individual members for another chapter of humanitarian service and progress of the organization. PURPOSES AND OBJECTIVES: 1. To promote professional camaraderie, fraternal collaboration and interaction with each other in order to keep abreast with developments in the rapid changing world. 2. To give aid and educational assistance to fellow skeptron and be of service to humanity. 3. To galvanize a multi-professional approach to the economic, social educational, cultural, techno-scientific and other problems confronting our fraternal organization in particular and the nation in general. 4.To enhance moral and spiritual values that will promote the core values of leadership, professionalism, integrity, excerllence and social responsibilty. 5. To build a coomunity of public interest advocacy in our search for peace, truth, justice and the improvement of the quality of our lives. 6. To act as a training ground for future leaders and to train them to become responsible citizens. 7. To make our individual resources, time and talents readily available so as to make life more enjoyable for others through humanitarian and community service and charitable works. 8. To actively participate and serve as a guiding hand and inspiring light to the members of the different Skeptron Organizations. 9. To foster and encourage a culture and spirit of cooperation, partnership and solidarity among our people and particularly among the members of the association through mobilizations, programs and concerned actions on matters and issues clothed with public interests, and 10. Proud to be an International Filipino Fraternity/Sorority The AKRHO or the SKEPTRON SOCIETY as it is likewise known has always been and always will be an organization steeped in the tradition of the past-free expression, fun loving, seek for the truth, unity, loyalty, respect, the pursuit of true Brotherhood and Sisterhood. The Organization is made up of men and women from diverse cultural, social, religious, political backgrounds and interest. It has spread through-out the archipelago and all over the world and has now become better known as the ALPHA KAPPA RHO International Humanitarian Service Fraternity and Sorority. On August 08, 1973, the celebration of the Feast Day of St. Dominic, patron saint of the University of Santo Tomas, sixteen young, all-male, energetic and ambitious freshmen and sophomore students of the university, sharing the same interests, dreams and ambitions, formed their own kind of fraternal organization – the ALPHA KAPPA RHO FRATERNITY. This was during the tumultuous early years of martial rule in the Philippines. However the time was then, these young men, guided by the almighty, bonded themselves together as one. The group was form out of necessity since at that time, as it is now, members of other fraternities in the AB-Commerce Building of UST, would recruit potential neophytes to join their ranks. But since this new grouping, whose members were mostly products of exclusive schools for boys in Metro Manila were themselves already in a band in campus, and in order to ward- off the pesky recruiters who could not wait to lay their hands on them, they thought, why not form their own? Lead by Bro “Boy Chua”, whose idea was it to form their own fraternity, and with Bro Noli Manalo (+), Bro Roger Sarmiento, Bro Teddy Aves, Bro Philip Balange, Bro Tanny Bernabe, Bro James Bracewell, Bro Monchet Cabrera, Bro Philip Diman, Bro Renato Go, Bro Teddy De Lara, Bro Arnel (Lim) Lorenzo, Bro Vismark Quequep, Bro Edwin Solano, Bro Ronnie Leuterio and Bro Gil Villegas, they founded the ALPHA KAPPA RHO Fraternity or AKRHO. Thus, the seed of the organization was planted and soon after the birth of ALPHA KAPPA RHO came to be. It happened that the founders themselves were likewise starting to recruit young members to join their own rank. Tensions rose within University of Santo Tomas campus among fraternities with our presence. Inevitably, we had to show true grit during heightened emotions, even when others tried vainly to erase the name ALPHA KAPPA RHO in the face of the earth. Our growing young fraternity then stood their ground and faced adversities with much courage, vigor and fortitude, in defense of, and for the protection of its existence. In so short a time, the small group developed into a strong force – in character and spirit, as well as in great number. Its popularity grew by leaps and bounds! More collegiate chapters were formed in different universities and colleges in Metro Manila. Later, Junior and Community chapters were likewise established and became part of AKP family. In 1976 the merging of OMEGA Fraternity and Sorority of San Sebastian College and ZETA UPSILON Fraternity of U.E. (University of the East) Recto with the ALPHA KAPPA RHO (AKRHO) Intercollegiate Service Fraternity and Sorority mark the beginning of the growth of ALPHA KAPPA RHO. The population of AKP commenced in greater numbers, expanding aggressively in massive members welcomed and much stronger than any other fraternities in the U-Belt (University Belt) area. The word AKRHO was established and among those being feared by rival fraternities. The growth of the AKP in 1975 was because of an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth with the coherent full cooperation, strong powers and determinations of our brothers and sisters of F.E.U. (Far Eastern University), P.S.B.A. (Philippine School of Business Administration) and N.C.B.A. (National College of Business and Arts) and San Sebastian College chapters with the help of the High School Skeptrons headed by Bro JUN LABO Pasaporte then called the DELTA KAPPA RHO or Junior Skeptrons. These five mentioned universities were the key factors in the growth of the ALPHA KAPPA RHO (AKRHO) Intercollegiate Service Fraternity and Sorority. Bro Jun Labo Pasaporte devoted his time and life for AKRHO. He died in July 17, 2003 at age 45 in Manila, Philippines. In addition to the adaption of the ALPHA KAPPA RHO Sorority, other fraternities and sororities with the same thoughts and feelings as that of the ALPHA KAPPA RHO at that time merged with it. From these mergers evolved one practice which becomes the hallmark of our group. For one, the noble, the traditional hand mark and its handclasp was a covenant agreed by our foreleaders from both ALPHA KAPPA RHO and the Omega Fraternity and Sorority, Inc. Reresented by our OFSI Brothers from San Sebastian College, Bro Alex Ramirez, Bro Dennie Ravarra, Bro Alex Mangubat, to name a few, and together with the Officers of the founding Members and the Officers of ALPHA KAPPA RHO, they signed pledge for and in behalf of each other’s group. This merge which happened in September 1976 at Rancho, Marikina (then a municipality) was momentous for to this day we carry in our hands the mark of synthesis, the handclasp that set a strong bond and true unity under one name, the ALPHA KAPPA RHO. Bro Jun Pasaporte was recruited by Bro Jerry Saguire in U.E Caloocan, and he was the first high school who was recruited. He later on founded the JUNIOR AKRHO. In August 8, 2008, exactly 35 years since the fraternity was established, the first National Convention was held at Amaranto Stadium, Quezon City which was attended by more than a thousand members from the Philippines and abroad. The rennaisance of the fraternity started in Naga City although community chapters was already existing in some part of the province. It was the first clash of Akrho in the province where it stand and fight for survival, during that time when the city was dominated by the local fraternity popularly known as LSP (Lambda Sigma Phi). There are some small groups, organizations and gangs existing to include other national and international fraternity in the city. Three community chapters of Alpha Kappa Rho were among those who have existed. One of this chapters is co existing with LSP where in all members of Akrho are also members of LSP while the two chapters were P. Diaz Chapter founded by RANDY DULAY and Pena Chapter founded by JING MANAIT. On August 22, 1991 UNC Chapter was founded by JOJO DEL ROSARIO. This chapter serves as mother chapter in Camarines Sur. The Mother Chapter in Camarines was created for easy supervision, control and accredits all existing chapters in the province for subsequent recognition by the mother chapter in metro manila. The two chapters headed by Jing Manait and Randy Dulay affirmed their support and acknowledged UNC chapter as mother chapter but the other chapter opposed. Since the chapter was compose of LSP members the conflict between LSP and AKRHO in Naga started. Since then, AKP expands their recruitment in the different municipalities of the province of which sipocot, pili, canaman, magarao, minalabac and ringconada areas were the initial recipient of the expansion. Many members of the fraternity gave their whole hearted dedications and stand to fight for the name of AKRHO to which the fraternity owes its success, such as Brod Boyet bunso Cristo who defend the existence of mother chapter in its confrontation against LSP, Brod Christopher chucks Tormes who continue the leadership of Brod Jojo after he left the province for professional advancement. Afters 10 years of existence the first Provincial Council was organized with Brod Begino as the GS. Today the population of Alpha Kappa Rho in Camarines Sur is considered one of the highest compared to other fraternity and the most distinguished in the province. Hereby and Loyalty A. GOD B.
