VITAMINS FOR THE MIND by Ron Reynolds #3643 (Friday, September 19, 2014) First Things First Your life is full of all kinds of obligations, duties, responsibilities, chores and other ‘needs’ that must be attended to. You have responsibilities with your spouse, with your children, with your extended family and you have commitments to honor for yourself as well. Then, along comes AdvoCare with its necessary disciplines, calls to make, people to see and goals to pursue; it can all become rather overwhelming, and you can be so immersed in the ‘stuff to do’ that you lose your effectiveness at doing anything correctly and thoroughly. Your patience can wear thin, your hopes and dreams can become obscured, and the attention you give to yourself often becomes so small in comparison to everything else that you often don’t know who you are and have lost sight of what you want to do, what you want to achieve and what you want to become; in the battle of ‘your needs’ versus those of everyone else, you lose. Sound familiar? Isn’t that very close to the thoughts that march through your brain at frequent intervals? There are solutions, however; you can hire a nanny, you can hire people to clean your house and do your landscaping, you can hire someone to pay your bills and you can hire people to come by on occasion to do some ‘preventive maintenance’ on your furnace, air conditioning, hot water tank and other things that often break and in so doing, cause you to go ballistic and lash out at everyone around you. All of these issues can damage your psyche to the extent that you feel like you’re in the vortex of an emotional tornado that’s taking you where you don’t want to go, but as I stated earlier – there are some real solutions that can really help so that you can take back greater control over the quality of your life. But – they also cost money, and for most people, the money that could enable us to pay for the things that would make life easier just isn’t there. Now, I want to say at this juncture that I’m not attempting to make a case for or against whether money is ‘the root of all evil.’ But, what I’ve observed in living my life in all kinds of situations is that it’s far more likely that not having enough money is really the root of all evil – it makes us do things and think things that are not moral, ethical or legal. Being broke forces us to take shortcuts, to run from one emergency after another, and it can quite often injure or destroy valuable relationships. And, while it may be true that the best things in life are ‘free,’ it still takes money to get to where they are. So here’s my conclusion about what we should do that starts a process that can lead to a much simpler, enjoyable and rewarding life; we should find a way to bring more money into the family so that the ‘family’ and each person in it can enjoy one another more, and can have more peace of mind. But to ‘bring more money in’ we each must do something which, in the beginning, will be a little uncomfortable. Based upon my experience, the best source for increasing our income with a minimum of disruption on other parts of our life is found within AdvoCare, but even here the path is not always easy. Why not take action that can lead to having more than you’ve ever had before because you’re doing something significant that you’ve never done before, but enjoying the journey as well as the destination.
