VJ Insists on Dialogue Veteran politician Vernon Mwaanga says political players in Zambia should not give up on dialogue even when the ruling party is resistant. Mwaanga said the numerous contentious issues characterizing the political landscape require dialogue among the players. He said that government should be willing to back down and accommodate dialogue and also the opposition should not be confrontational in their approach. Mwaanga said that the tension in the country will continue building if no effort is made among political players to dialogue. Dialogue is extremely essential between the ruling party and the opposition to resolve some of the contentious issues like the constitution,” he said. “When I was Secretary General we had the Zambia Centre for Inter Party Dialogue but now it seems the institution has become moribund.
